One Year Bible Women's Community
God created us to be in community. He created us to live our lives in a safe, connected way with Him and other people. The foundation of a safe connection with another person is that both people are growing spiritually, deepening their relationship with Jesus, and walking in humility, willing to be transformed and changed in their mindsets and beliefs that do not align with God's truths. Deep fellowship can thrive when we are submitted to Christ and transformed.
The source of truth for this transformation and spiritual growth is the Word of God, the Bible. Our Bibles are more than a collection of stories for us to learn. Our Bibles are our covenant wedding contract with our Bridegroom Jesus.
In Biblical Hebrew culture, before a wedding, a contract was written. This contract is called a ketubah. The ketubah would outline the husband's responsibilities to his wife and her responsibilities to her husband. While the husband was preparing a place for His new Bride to live, she was to be preparing herself for marriage through consecration and beautification.
When we say yes to salvation in Jesus Christ, we are saying yes to being His Bride. Our Bible is our marriage contract. While we are waiting on His return, we are to prepare ourselves through consecration and align ourselves with the contract. This is what we agree to upon salvation. Therefore, when we read our Bibles, it is not to gain more knowledge. We read and study our Bibles so we can be intimate with our Groom and ready for His return. As we do this, we grow spiritually and emotionally to be able to create safe communities where fellowship thrives.
These reasons are why APD is reading through the One Year Bible for Women in 2026! We will connect through the truths of the Bible, which will transform us and draw us closer to Jesus and to each other.
